The EP App (DG, WG, Preg)
"What kind of crazy app is this thing?" Crystal wondered for what must have been the tenth time that morning. The blonde had awoken to find an app had installed itself on her phone. In big bold letters it read EP. She had wondered if it was some sort of music service, but the icon had nothing to do with music. It was an infinity symbol. Crystal had thought about opening the strange app a few times, but worried her new phone would get infected with some sort of virus just days after getting it. For some reason it would not allow her to delete it, so she was stuck. Deciding she may as well go for it, her curiosity piqued, she opened EP. Apparently EP stood for Endless Possibilities. As she searched through the app it asked her to scan someone. "Ms. Winters, you're going to be late for class if you keep dawdling on your phone." She heard from in front of her. The voice belonged to one of her teachers, Ms. Langworthy. The teacher was in her mid-30s, and while on the wrong side of her

(Trigger warnings: car accident, brain injury, firearms) BEEP Ugh. Ow. BEEP She was injured enough that she couldn’t make out - or worse, couldn’t understand - the voices of the doctors and nurses around her. But the pure tones of the machines monitoring her failing body still came in loud and clear. BEEP Damnit, it wasn’t supposed to happen like this! She’d done everything right this time, hadn’t she? Found a community? Used her resources to keep them together? Twenty years of work, gone like that, because she got too bold defending her people. BEEP Keep it together, Doreen. You’ve done this before, and in bodies and minds failing more quickly than this one. Just find an opportunity and get out of here. You can grieve for yourself later. But “getting out of here” wasn’t that easy anymore. Apparently the pandemic had caused better adherence to infection protocols, and the doctors and nurses caring for her broken body and brain all wore gloves, denying her precious skin-to-skin
(light noncon elements, weight gain and stuffing, supernatural ghosty stuff) She just wanted to get away somewhere for the weekend to clear her head. The nearby sleepy, quaint village seemed like the perfect close location for her to take a little time alone and get some work done. She booked a rental online after having viewed a few photos of the tiny picturesque late 19th century cottage tucked into the woods on the edge of town. It looked remote, secluded, comfortable. Her drive on Friday afternoon was just half an hour. The host had emailed her the code to the door. All hers. She breathed a heavy sigh of relief when her sedan rolled down the gravel driveway to see no other cars. The old porch steps creaked under her light footsteps as she made her way inside. There was undoubtedly a presence in the tiny house. She didn't necessarily believe in ghosts, but she didn't NOT believe in ghosts, and she couldn't deny the old place felt like it had its own spirit and warmth to it. The

Fattening Landscapes: The Nectar Swamp (BBW, XWG)
(What's in this? A fantasy explorer explores magically fattening landscapes, one at a time!) Mary Camretti’s Travel Guide Through Edible Landscapes, document one—the nectar swamps. Introduction: I am Mary Camretti, explorer extraordinaire. Our world is no stranger to magically altered environs. From the bellowing whalescapes to the north where sea and tundra are one, to the glass desserts of the South where molten hot sunlight has cooked the ground into a crystalline death field, this is a strange and wonderful world we live in. But there is a particular subset of these magical environments that I have a unique interest in. You see, my mother was the chef for our local Lord, and taught me to appreciate fine cuisine and all that food means. As a young girl, her village had gone through a famine, which had forced her to learn how to extract the flavour from each and every scrap of food she could. She spoke of food as a limited thing, whose absence and the fear thereof shaped the
After humanity went to the stars, many things wound up being left behind. One of them was obesity. The scarcity that led to the Void Migration did not allow even those who had some modicum of wealth to put on any excess weight. And after the bounty of the stars was reaped, scarcity had become the norm. The food grown in replicators was carefully monitored to give out just the right amount of calories. In the millenia since, the idea that humans could even gain weight was almost mythical. Until the Sun of Moons found something. “Looks like an ancient earth vessel. Pre migration even. “ There were no life signs on board. Captain Sevesta rubbed her silver glowing eyebrows. Her whole body had a silver color motif, from her captain's uniform, to her makeup, to her long ponytail. “Anything interesting onboard?” The ship was so old they couldn't even find any record on board of what its name was, much less what it was carrying. Their scanners would do most of the
